Public meeting to focus on EPA grant proposals

Citizens are invited to attend a public meeting tomorrow to comment on draft grant proposals that the Tulsa Development Authority and City of Tulsa will submit to the Environmental Protection Agency for funding to clean up two Tulsa brownfields. The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at Rudisill Library, 1520 N. Hartford Ave. The North Tulsa Economic Development Initiative also will be discussed at the meeting.

The draft proposals seek funding between $250,000 and $500,000 for cleanup of the old Morton Health Center site, 605 E. Pine St., and the Evans/Fintube site, 150 and 186 N. Lansing Ave. Copies of the TDA and City of Tulsa’s proposed brownfields cleanup grant applications are available for public review, copying and comment between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays, at City Hall, located at One Technology Center, 175 E. Second St. Citizens may submit comments on the grant applications to the Tulsa City Clerk’s Office on or before noon Oct. 15.

The TDA and City of Tulsa will provide a written response to those who submit comments and members of the public who request a copy of the response. Any comments and responses will be included in final grant proposals.
