The City of Tulsa has awarded the contract for curbside collection of recyclables to RR Waste Solutions, which will take over the recycling collections June 1. The service has been provided by TRI Inc. since the program’s inception.
The new contract calls for collections to be made every two weeks instead of twice a month. As a result, there will be two additional pickups per year for each of Tulsa’s 14,000 curbside recycling customers.
RR Waste Solutions will apportion the city into 10 collection routes. Letters are being mailed to customers on every route to explain any changes.
Customers will continue to use the same bins, and the same materials are eligible for recycling. They include newspaper, junk mail, magazines, office paper, plastic, glass and aluminum.
